How self-aware are you?

If you were observing your own behavior and communication, would you be able to identify actions, character, words that truly reflect and describe who you are?

Would you be able to say, “yes that’s what it looks like or means to be at my best”? Or would you be guessing, hoping, or not really sure one way or another?

And I am not just talking about the obvious actions or behaviors that you desire to display. I am talking about those daily actions and behaviors that you know are your best, rather than mediocre or negative versions of you. Remember 40% of your daily behavior is driven by habits!

Have you ever thought about your personal values? You may have heard about a teams’ or companys’ values, but what about personal values?

One key element of values is that they help clarify and give substance to who you are and what it means or looks like for you to be at your best!

Here are 8 outcomes for those that know their values:

– Clarity

– Courage

– Security

– Consistency

– Excitement

– Guidance

– Significance

When you have clarity on your values, it creates security in knowing who you are and confidence to be you. Especially in those moments of chaos, unknown, injustice, and pain.

Your values will guide you through those difficult and joy-filled moments, keep your power and not give it away, and act like yourself.

In chapter 5 of SHIFT, you take a deep dive into growing your self-awareness, understand why it’s imperative to keep your power and not give it away and clarify your values.

Transitions occur every week and they create opportunities with every turn, seize them!
